The is no such thing as a standard new construction purchase agreement. You can use the Minnesota Association of Realtors form but can you afford to not have an agreement that is custom drafted to meet your needs and concerns? Not every builder builds the same type of home, has the same profit margin and the same pool of buyers. It only makes sense that there is no one agreement that is going to be right for every builder......

Statutory New Construction Warranties: They Don't Always Apply

Did you know that could buy residential new construction without the benefit of the statutory New Construction warranties? The fact is there are a number of situations where the purchaser of a residential new construction home does not get these warranties, especially in the present market. Due to the real estate downturn there are scores of of new construction homes on the market. Depending on who purchases the homes and how the home was used prior to the ultimate sale, the statutory warranties may or may not apply.
